Our Privacy Policy

We only process personal data (in the following usually referred to simply as “data”) when absolutely necessary and for the purposes of providing a functioning, user-friendly website, including its contents and the services we offer.

Article 4, paragraph 2 of EU Regulation 2016/679—the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter simply GDPR)—defines “processing” as “any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.”

Our privacy policy explains the scope, purpose, extent, and legal basis of our processing of personal data insofar as we decide on the purposes and means of this processing on our own or together with others. It also explains the third-party components we use for the purposes of optimization and the improvement of user experience, insofar as this entails the processing of data by third parties on their own authority.

Our privacy policy includes the following sections:

I. Information about us as controllers of your data
II. Rights of users and data subjects
III. Information about the data processing

II. Rights of users and data subjects

As concerns the data processing described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right

  • to obtain confirmation as to whether their data is being processed, to receive information about the processed data and further information about the nature of the data processing, and to be given copies of their data (see also Article 15 of the GDPR);
  • to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or completed (see also Article 16 of the GDPR);
  • to have data concerning them erased without undue delay (see also Article 17 of the GDPR) or, alternately, if further processing of their data is necessary according to Article 17, paragraph 3 of the GDPR, to restrict processing of their data in accordance with Article 18 of the GDPR;
  • to receive copies of the data concerning and/or provided by them and to have it transmitted to other providers/controllers (see also Article 20 of the GDPR);
  • to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe that data concerning them has been processed by the controller in a way that infringes data protection regulations (see also Article 77 of the GDPR).

Furthermore, the controller is obliged to inform all recipients to whom it discloses data of any corrections or deletions of data or any restriction on processing the same per Article 16, Article 17, paragraph 1, or Article 18 of the GDPR. This obligation does not apply if communicating this information is impossible or would involve a disproportionate effort. Notwithstanding this, the user has a right to be informed about these recipients.

According to Article 21 of the GDPR, users and data subjects have the right to object to the future processing of data concerning them insofar as the controller is processing it according to Article 6, paragraph 1, lit. f of the GDPR. In particular, an objection to data processing for the purposes of direct marketing is permissible.
